1.      Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation Transformation Program Office intended to apply part of its own fund to payments under the contract for the procurement of S4m 00-2001-0400T Barcode/cable printers or equivalent, Symbol LS278 Barcode readers or equivalent, Zebra R170xiFRID/Bar code/Label Printers or equivalent, RD5000 (fixed) RFID readers) or equivalent, MC9090-G RFID reader (mobile) or equivalent, RFID label with 96 bit tags 1000 labels 4x6 and Printer suppliers barcode/lable 4x6.

2.      Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation Transformation Program Office invites all interested and eligible bidders by this International Competitive Bid for the Procurement of S4m 002001-0400T Barcode/cable printers or equivalent, Symbol LS4278 Barcode readers or equivalent, Zebra R170xiFRID/Bar code/ Label Printers or equivalent, RD5000 (fixed) RFID readers or equivalent, MC9090-G RFID reader (mobile) or equivalent, RFID label with 96 bit tags 1000 labels 4x6 and Printer supplies barcode/lable 4x6.

3.      Bid Documents can be obtained form ETC’s Transformation Program Office, 3^rd Floor during Office hours upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100.00 (Birr One Hundred only).

4.      All Bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the form of Birr 10,000.00 (Birr Ten Thousand only).

4.1   The bid bond shall be furnished in one of the following forms:-

a)      Cash

b)      Certified Cheque/CPO issued by a recognized domestic bank or

c)      Bond issued by and/or confirmed though a recognized domestic bank.

4.2   The Bank that issues the bond as per 4.1 (c) here above shall unequivocally guarantee to pay the purchaser (ETC’s Transformation Program Office) immediately upon the first written demand of payment. The Purchaser’s written demand of payment shall not be subject to any condition whatsoever.

4.3  The bond issuing bank shall clearly incorporate the content stated under item 4.2 here above on the issued bond.

5.      Sealed bids marked as: “Tender NO.TPO-F/01/2008)” and addressed to:

Will be received at ETC’s Transformation Program Office, 3^rd Floor in Addis Ababa before or on May 20, 2008 until 5:30 P.M. Bids received after the closing time (May 20, 2008 until 5:30 P.M). Will be automatically rejected.

6.      Bids received in time and fulfilling other bid formalities shall be opened in the presence of interested bidders or their representatives at 10:00 A.M. on May 21, 2008 at ETC’s Transformation Program Office, 4^th Floor.

7.      The Corporation reserves the right to reject all or parts of this bid.
