Re –Invitation for Bid (IFB)
Hawassa Town Water Supply & Sewerage Service Enterprise
Water Supply & Sanitation Project
1. The
Government of Ethiopia has received financing from the
International Development Association toward the cost of Hawassa
Water Supply & Sanitation project & it intends to apply part of
funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for Civil Work
Construction of Tunto & Shallo springs.
2. The
Hawassa Water Supply & Sewerage Service Enterprise now invites
sealed bids from qualified eligible bidders for the construction of
Tunto & Shallo springs.
The project in short comprises
but not limited to the following Capping of springs, installation of
13,4 kms of (GI/upVC/DCI) pipes, construction of one pioneer
reservoir foundation with diameter of 12m and 2(Two) public
fountains, 2 (Two) washing Basin, 3 (Three) Cattle trough,
construction of four ancillary buildings, river crossing structures
plus other appurtenant works at Capping site, Shasha Kebele of
Wondogenet, along transmission pipe line & reservoir sitein Hawassa.
3. Bidder
must obtain license for category GC/WC3 & above for Water Works
with valid license for the current year.
4.
Bids shall be valid for a period of One hundred & Twenty
(120) days after Bid opening Bids must be accompanied by bid
security of not less than 2% of the total bid price. They shall be
delivered to Hawassa Water Supply & sewerage Service Enterprise,

A.M. on 27, April 2009 Bids shall be opened at 10:30 A.M. on the
same date in the presence of the bidders who with to attend
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. late bids will be
rejected.
5. Qualification
requirements include (i) completion of at least two similar
construction contracts of similar size in the last five years (ii)
average annual turnover equal to the bid price during the last three
years, (iii) liquid assets of at least 5% (Five percent) of the bid
price (i.e) supported by audit report) or unconditional bank loan
facility and (iv) an experienced Construction team. Additional
details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
6. A
complete set of Bidding Document in English may be purchased
directly from the Hawassa Water Supply & Sewerage Service
Enterprise, Room number 01 upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of
Birr 250.00 by interested bidders on submission of a written
application to the address indicated below interested eligible
bidders may obtain further information from the address given below
and inspect the Bidding Documents at that address from 8:30 A.M. to
12:30 P.M. & from 1:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. Monday to Thursday and from
8:30 A.M. to 11:30 P.M. & from 1:30 P.M to 5:30 P.M. on Friday.
7. The
Hawassa Town Water Supply & Sewerage Service Enterprise reserves the
right to reject any and or all bids
