Invitation for Expression of
Interest to Conduct
Government of Ethiopia planned to
develop the Tana and Beles sub-basin into a growth zone, the aim of
which is alleviating poverty and improving the livelihoods of
communities living in and around the sub Basin. The intervention
would also contribute to the overall growth of the country at large.
Accordingly an Integrated Water Resources Development Projected has
The projects has different components
and sub-components of which the watershed management sub-component
(sub-component B1) of Tana Beles Integrated Water Resources
Development Project (TBIWRDP) is one of such initiatives. The
project is specifically designed to support sustainable watershed
development and management in Ribb, Gumera and Jema sub-watersheds.
These sub-watersheds are found in
five woredas, namely Farta, Este, Dera (in South Gondar Zone), Mecha
and Sekela (in West Gojam Zone) of Amhara National Regional State (ANRS).
The implementation of this sub-waterhed
development project has been started by ANRS Bureau of Agriculture
and Rural Development with other key stakeholders. To Support the
management capacity of the stakeholders through development of an
effective Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) system, a unit with
technical assistance staff within the Regional Project Coordination
Unit (RPCU) has been established.
For designing the M & E system,
establishing bench mark on key indicators through conducting
socioeconomic baseline study is one of the major tasks to be carried
out the beginning of the project period.
Bureau of Agriculture and Rural
Development /RPCU/plans to conduct the socio economic baseline study
through contracting an institution/firm that has got proven
experience in doing baseline surveys in similar environment. Hence,
the Bureau invites eligible and competent companies/firms with
relevant experience and renewed license to conduct baseline study in
the three micro watersheds found in five woredas mentioned above.
The consultantís assignment, detail tasks, and time frame for
conducting the baseline study including delivery of final report are
outlined in the ToR, which can collected from the Bureau/RPCU.
Therefore, interested companies/firms
are hereby invited to collect the terms of reference (ToR) and
submit their application together with their company profile,
credentials, CVs of personnel participating on the baseline survey
and financial proposal within 20 days from the date of
announcement on the news paper. The tender will be closed on the
20th day from the date of announcement at 2:00 P.M. and the bid document will be opened at
2:30 on the same date.
