Construction of Assela Town Water
Supply Immediate
Service Improvement (ISI) Project
Credit No. 3901 ET, Grant No. H850ET
1. Assela
Town Water Board in Oromia National Regional State through the
Government of Ethiopia has received a Credit/Loan from the World
Bank toward the cost of Water Supply and Sanitation Project and
intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Credit/Loan to payment
under the contract for construction Immediate service Improvement (ISI)
for Assela Town Water Supply and Sanitation Project.
2. The
Town Water Board now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified
bidders for the Construction of Assela Town Water Supply Immediate
Service improvement project for
Supply and installation of pump with
accessories
Construction of 200m3 RC reservoir.
Construction of River/Gulley crossing
Anchor black and valve chamber
3. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the world Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Grant /Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all
bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Bidding
Documents.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Assela Water
Supply and Sewerage Service Enterprise and inspect the bidding
documents at the address given below from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
5. Qualification
requirements include:
The minimum required annual volume of
construction work for the successful Bidder in any of the last five
years shall be Birr one million (Birr 1,000,000) Experience in the
construction of at least tow works, as prime Contractor in one of
them, of the nature and complexity equivalent to the works over the
last 5 years (to comply with this requirement, works cited should be
at least 70 percent complete). A margin of preference for eligible
national contractors’ joint ventures shall be applied.
6. A
complete set of bidding documents in English language may be
purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
application to the address below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee ETB 300 (Birr Three Hundred Only). The method of
payment will be CPO Cheque or Cash. The Bidding documents will
delivered to authorized representative of the bidder upon payment of
the non-refundable fee stated above.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 1:30 p.m.
December 2009. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids
will rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders
representatives who choose to attend in person or on-online at the
address below at 1:30 pm. December 2009.
8. All
bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” of minimum one
percentage (1%) of bid price or an equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency.
