1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received credit for the International Development Association towards the cost of General Education Quality Improvement Program, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the Supply and Delivery of Audio visual equipments, office equipments, Computers and ICT Peripherals.

2.      The Debre Markos University now invites salad bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply and delivery of the following.

3.      Bids will be evaluated and contract (s) awarded for the lot taking into account, discounts offered, if any, in determining the lowest evaluated cost which will be the basis for award of contract.

4.      Bidding will be concuted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Sources Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Debre Markos University Administration Building 2nd floor, office No. 5, Tel. 058 778 06 70 and inspect the Bidding documents from 8:00 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. and 2:00 to 5:30 P.M. during working days.

6.      A complete set of Bidding Documents in English can be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the University and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100.00 or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. the method of payment will be in the form of cash or crossed check or a bank draft in favour of the Debre Markos University.

7.      Bids must be delivered to the Debre Markos University at the address given above at or before 10:30 a.m. January 22, 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be opened in the presence  of the bidders/ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address given above at 10:30 a.m. on January 22, 2010. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 10,000.00 or its equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

The University has preserved the right to reject the bid partly or in full.
