Procurement of Office Equipment
1. This
invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared in DG Market on June 12, 2009 issue no.
4044031
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopian has received a grant from
the International Development Association toward the cost of the
Nutrition Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of
this grant to payments under the Contract for Procurement of Office
Equipment.
3. The
Ministry of Health now invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified bidders for the supply of Office Equipment.
Bidders have the option to bid on a
lot bases.

4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits dated May 2004 revised
October 1, 2006 and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source
Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested

the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 8:30 A.M.
-12:30 P.M. and 1:30P.M. -5:30 P.M. from Monday to Friday.
6. Qualifications
requirements include:
a) Financial
Capability: A minimum average annual turnover of two times the bid
price offered, over the last five years; and
b) Experience
and Technical Capacity: Having successfully completed a minimum of
two contracts each of similar nature and size within the last five
years.
A margin of preference for certain
goods manufactured domestically shall, be applied. Additional
details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
7. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be
purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
Application to the address below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 200.00 (Two Hundred Birr) or
equivalent in freely convertible currency for a courier service
charge or send a prepaid Courier Service Coupon. The method of
payment will be in cash, or Cahier’s Payment Order (C.P.O.) or
direct deposit to MoH A/C No 01601011900 with the National Bank of
Ethiopia.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below on or before 2:00 P.M. of
January 27, 2010. Electronic bidding will be opened in the presence
of the Conference Hall of Ministry of Health, Head Office, Office
no. 1.3, Lideta sub-city, Kebele 07/14,
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 2:30
P.M. of January 27, 2010. All bids
must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Birr 10,000.00 /Ten
Thousand Birr Only/ or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency.
