Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO) (hereinafter referred to as the
Corporation) issues this notice of invitation to bid:
230kV Metu-Gambella Power
Transmission Project (Contract-
manufacture, test, supply, delivery to selected main stores of
erection site (Metu), sea and inland transportation to site of
erection including port clearances and insurance from warehouse to
warehouse) 230kV substation electromechanical equipments for Metu
and Gambella substations.
Only bidders, who have designed,
manufactured and supplied transmission line materials and towers at
230kV voltage level or above will be considered Qualified.
The bidders shall provide financial
offer one with financing proposal as soft loan, supplier’s/Buyer’s
Credit form its respective government and/or financing institution.
Bidders shall provide financial offer
assuming that EECPO will arrange the project finance.
Bidders shall have the right to
provide option-I and/or option-II
EEPCO Shall have the right to decide
on the better option.
A technically qualified bid with
attractive financing scheme and commercial offer shall be selected
for contract negotiation and award.
The bid document in soft copy (CD)
can be collected against a non-refundable payment of Ethiopian Birr

Bid documents will be available
starting from 12 February 2009 at working days and time.
Site visit will be conducted form
March 13-22, 2009 and pre-bid meeting will be held on March 23, 2009
at 14:00 hours local time (2:00 P.M.) at EEPCO Club, Mexico
