1. This
invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this
project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business,
issue No. WB 2837-732/08 On July 16,2008.
2. The
office of Kombolcha city service has funds within the World Bank's
budget to be used for the procurement of construction and completion
of Berberie riverbank protection project on a completion period of
120 days.
3. The
office of Kombolcha city service invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the provision of the necessary lab our, material,
equipment, and services for the construction and completion of
Berberie river bank protection project which comprises construction
of retaining wall and groynes but not limited to Domestic contractor
of category BC-5, GC-5 & WC-5 and above, with license valid for the
year 2001 E.C are eligible to participate in the bid.
4. Bidding
will be conducted in accordance with the open national tendering
procedures contained in the public procurement proclamation of the
Federal Government of Ethiopia and is open to all bidders from
eligible source countries.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from kombolcha
office of city service and inspect the bidding document at the
address given below at (7) from 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00
6. A
complete set of bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders at the address below at (7) and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 150.The method of payment will
be in cash or cashiers check.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at (7) at or before 14:00 on
Thursday Jan. 29, 2009. All bids must be accompanied by a bid
security of Ethiopian Birr 50,000 in a certified check or bank
guarantee. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the
presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the
address below at (7) at 14:30 on Thursday Jan.29, 2009.
8. Address
document may be inspected at, issued from, delivered to and address
of bid opening.
