CONSTRUCTION DESIGN OFFICE OF MEKELE
1. The
Mekele City Administration and Design office invites registered
contractors of Category GC-1 or RC-1 with license valid for the year
2001 EC, registered for VAT to submit sealed bids for providing the
necessary labour, materials equipment and any other necessary
requirements for the execution and completion of the Mekele City
Asphalt Road Project.
2. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the
bidding document at the office of:

3. Each
prospective bidder proposing to bid for this project must be
eligible fulfilling the requirements of the Particular Instruction
of the project.
4. A
complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested
eligible bidder from Jan. 13/2009 G.C on wards and on payment of a
non-refundable fee of ETB 500.00 (Five Hundred) for each set of
document, and submission of Registration Certificate for GC-1 or
RC-1, Renewed Business license for 2001 E.C. VAT registration, Tax
payer registration and Tax clearance certificates. No liability will
be accepted for loss or late delivery.
5. All
bids must be accompanied by a bid security not less than 1% of the
bid amount or a maximum of Birr 100.000. The bid security shall be
payable on demand to the Employer, and must be an irrevocable letter
of Credit, or Bank Guarantee, or a Certificate, or a Certified
Payment Order (CPO) at the bidders option. Late bids shall be
rejected. The bid along with the bid security must be delivered to
the Mekelle City Constriction and Design P.O. Box 52 Mekelle on or
before Feb. 12, 2009 G.C 8:30 P.M.
6. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders or bidder’s
representatives who choose to attend at Mekele City Administration
on Feb. 12, 2009 G.C. 9:00 P.M.
7. The
construction of the work shall be completed within 700 calendar days
from commencement of works.
8. The
Employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids to waive
informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the
work otherwise as may be for its best interest.
