Procurement of 26-30 Seat Midi Buses for University
1. This
Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared in Development Business, on March 28 and April
1, 2008.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a grant from
the International Development Association and other Donors toward
the cost of Protection of Basic Services, and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this grant to payments under the Contract
for Procurement of 26-30 Seat Midi Buses for Universities.
3. The
Pharmaceuticals Fund and Supply Agency now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of Procurement of
26-30 Seat Midi Buses for Universities.
4. Bidding
will be conducted though the International Competitive Bidding (ICB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

Documents at the address given below from 8;30 A.M. -11:30 P.M. and
1:30 P.M. -4:30 PM form Monday to Friday.
6. Qualification
requirements include:
a)
Financial Capability: A minimum average annual turnover of
two times the bid price offered, over the last five years; and
b)
Experience and Technical Capacity: Having successfully
completed a minimum of two contracts each of similar nature and size
within the last five years.
7. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be
purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
application to the address below and upon payment of a non
refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 200.00 (Two Hundred Birr) or
equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Those who want the bid
document to be sent by a Courier Services shall pay an additional
amount of ETB 515.00 or equivalent in a freely convertible currency
for a courier service charge or send a pre paid Courier Service
Coupon. The method of payment will be in cash or Cashier’s Payment
Order (C.P.O.) or direct deposit to PFSA A/C No. 0133818504100 with
the National Bank of Ethiopia.
8. Sealed
Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2;)0 P.M. 5th
March 2009. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will
be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
Bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at the PFSA
Conference Hall. Addis Ketema, Keble 19/20, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 2:30 P.M. 5th March 2009. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of the Bid amount
including all incidental services or an equivalent amount in a
freely convertible currency.
