The Federal Democratic Republic of
Ethiopia has received a loan from the International Fund for
Agricultural Development (IFAD) in various currencies equivalent to
USD 40.0 Million towards the cost the Participatory Small scale
Irrigation Development Program (PASIDP), and intends to apply a
portion of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payment under this
contract for the procurement of Office Equipment stated here under.

Item III: Printer and Scanner
Item IV: Photocopy Machine
Item V: Fax Machine
Payments by IFAD will be made only at
the request of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE)
and upon approval by the IFAD, and will be subject, in all respects,
to the terms and conditions of the Loan Agreement.
The Loan Agreement prohibits a
withdrawal from the Loan Account for the purpose of any payment to
person or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment of
import, to the knowledge of IFAD, is prohibited by a decision of the
United Nations Security Council taken under chapter VII of the
Charter of the United Nations. No party other than FDRE shall derive
any rights from the Loan Agreement or have any claim to loan
proceeds.
The Ministry of Agricultural and
Rural Development (MoARD) now invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the supply of the above mentioned items.
Bidding will be conducted through the
International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the
IFAD’s procurement guidelines:
Procurement under IFAD Loans. It is
open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the
guidelines. Bidders may offer process for each item or for all
items.
Interested eligible bidders may
obtain further information from the Ministry of Agriculture and
Rural Development (MoARD) Procurement, Finance and Property
Administration Directorate and inspect the bidding documents during
working Hours from 9:00 A.M to 12:00 A.M and from 2:00 P.M to 4:00 P.M at the address given
below.
A complete set of bidding document in
English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of
written application to the address below upon payment of a
non-refundable fee Birr 100 (Hundred Birr) or USD 12.00 or
equivalent in freely convertible currency. The method of payment
will be in cash or Bank Payment Order.
Bids must be delivered to the Office
hose address is specified below on or before 03 August 2009 at 2:00
P.M and must be accompanied by a bid security 20,000 (Twenty Thousand Birr)
in the form of Bank Guarantee, CPO or certified cheque. Bids will be
opened in the presence of bidders or-their representatives who chose
to attend at 2:30 P.M on 03
August 2009 at the address indicated below.
