Pastoral Community Development Project

Procurement of Vehicles,
1. This
Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared in Development Business, dated 10 November
2008.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received loan/ credit
from the International Development Association toward the cost of
Pastoral Community Development Project II, and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this Grant/ credit to payments under the
Contract for the procurement of Vehicles and motorcycles, IFB
Number: F/ICB/G/Y1/01.
3. The
Federal Project Coordination Unit now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of the following
vehicles and Motorcycles.
Lot I: 20 Long Base 4WD, hard top
Lot II: 2 Station Wagon
Lot III: 25 Double Cab pick up
Lot IV: 135 Motor Cycles
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all
bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Federal Project
Coordination Unit (FPCU), Senior Procurement Officer and inspect the
Bidding Documents at the address given below from Monday to Friday
during office hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
6. Qualifications
requirements include: full compliance to the technical
specification. A margin of preference for eligible national
contractors shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in
the Bidding Documents.
7. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee Birr 300
(Three Hundred Birr) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency. the method of payment will be in cash, CPO, or certified
cheque. The Bidding Documents will be sent by airmail/ surface mail
up on additional non refundable fee of Birr 500 (Five Hundred Birr)
or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 10 August 2009
at 2:30 p.m local time.
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/
representatives who choose to attend at the address below on 10
August 2009 at 3:00 PM local time. All bids must be accompanied by a
Bid Security of at least 2% of bid price in the form of CPO, Bank
Guarantee or letter of credit.
