Re-Invitation to Bid

To all contractors of category GC/BC Class valid licence for the current year.

1.      Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has budget to be used for the Construction of 1) 2 basements +1 Semi-basement +G+7 building for Megenagna Branch Office 2) 2 basement +G+7 building for Paulos Branch Office of CBE.

2. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open national tender procedure and is open to all contractors of category GC/BC Class 1 with renewed license and VAT registration certificate. Bidders must submit sealed bids for providing the necessary labour, material, equipment and any other necessary requirements for the execution and completion of the

1. Megenagna Branch Office Building.
2. Paulos Branch Office

4.      Each prospective bidder proposing to bid for this project must be eligible fulfilling the requirements of the particular instruction of the Project.

5.      A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested eligible bidder on the submission of a written application to the above address and payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 3,500 (Three Thousand Five Hundred) for Megenagna and Birr 3,500 (Three Thousand Five Hundred) for Paulos Branch Office Starting form June 12, 2009 G.C.

6.      Those bidders who bought the bidding documents in 1^st invitation can use the drawings on their hand and are only required to purchase the specification & Bill of quality document upon payment of non-refundable fee of Birr 50 starting from June 12, 2009 G.C.

7.      Those bidders who want to bid for the two projects must submit different project. If the proposed personnel, equipment and machinery are same the offer will be rejected automatically during evaluation.

8.      All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 100,000 for each project. The bid security shall be Payable on demand to the employer, and must be Bank Guarantee, or a Cashier Payment Order (CPO) at the bidders option.

The bid along with the bid security must be delivered to the above address on or before July 9, 2009 at 9:30 A.M. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

9.      Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or bidder’s representatives who choose to attend at the office of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia on July 9, 2009 at 10:00 A.M.

10.  The Employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the work otherwise as may be for its best interest.

11.  All bids must include 15% VAT (Value Added Tax) on the summary of Price.

12.  Bidders are strictly advised all to follow the instruction to bidders and all requirements in the bid document.

13.  Bidders are instructed to fill, sing and seal all the forms of the bid documents. Failure of this instruction is automatic rejection.
