1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a loan and
grant from the African Development Bank Group in various currencies
to finance the cost of the Project “The Creation of Sustainable
Tsetse and Tryponosomiasis-Free Areas in East and West Africa” to be
implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology’s (MOST)
Southern Rift Valley Tsetse Eradication Project (STEP). It is
intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to
eligible payments under the contract for Tsetse Production Unit
(TPU) Equipment.
2. The
Southern Tsetse Eradication Project (STEP), now invites sealed bids
from eligible bidders for the supply and installation of TPU
equipment for the STEP Kaliti Tsetse Rearing and Irradiation Center,
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The
equipment is to be used in the mass rearing of tsetse flies.
3. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the
bidding documents at the STEP Coordination Office, Administrative
Section located at the following address:

4. A
complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested
bidders by submitting a written request to the above address and a
non-refundable payment 100 Ethiopian Birr or other convertible
currency
5. The
provision in the Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions
of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank’s
Standard Bidding Documents (SBD) Procurement of Goods.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the above office on or before 10:00 A.M on
Wednesday 15 July 2009, and must be accompanied by abid security of
Fifty Thousands U.S. Dollars ($50,000US).
7. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders/ representatives who
choose to attend at 10:30 A.M on Wednesday, 15 July 2009, at
the same location. |
