For Procurement of furniture of
primary schools
Re: The Project for Construction of
Primary Schools at Shawa North (for Phase 1) and Herarge West (for
Phase II) in Oromia Region.
1. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
(hereinafter referred to as ‘’Ethiopia’’) has received Grant Aid
from the Government of Japan as per the Exchange of Notes dated 4th
of December 2007 (hereinafter referred to as ‘’the E/N) for the
purchase of products and services necessary for the execution of the
purchase of products and services necessary for the execution of the
Program by Ethiopia for Community Empowerment (hereinafter referred
to as ‘’the Program’’) which includes the Project for Construction
of Primary Schools in Oromia Region (Phase I at Shawa North and
Phase II at Herarge West) and intends to apply a part of the fund of
the Grant Aid to eligible payments under the contracts(s) for which
this Bidding Documents is issued. Under the Program, Japan
International Cooperation System (JICS) (hereinafter referred to
as ‘’the Client’’) acts as an implementing agent for and on behalf
of Ethiopia to procure the construction works and other related
services products, utilizing the funds available in accordance with
the E/N. The Client is also delegated to conclude the contract with
the Contractor and to make a payment to the Contractor.
2.
The Client invites all eligible Bidders as below:
A Bidder shall,
(1)
have registered his head office in Ethiopia.
(2)
Not have consecutive loss on P/L for the last three years.
(3)
Be registered to collect VAT.
(4)
Have a capital for not less than 1,400,000 ETB.
(5)
Have sales record to supply furniture for school in Ethiopia
at least 3,000,000 ETB in any of the last three years.
3. Bid
is divided into 2 lots as shown below:

4. Interested
eligible Contractors may obtain a complete set of the Bidding
Documents upon payment of non-refundable fee of Birr Five Hundred
(500) at the Client’s office addressed below.
5. The
Client reserves the right to reject any or all Bidders.
6. The
Procurement Schedule is shown below.
