Invitation to Bid for GS and HDPE
pipes
1. Water
Action invites interested bidders for the Supply of Different Size
of GS and HDPE pipes listed herein under for phase II Worka Gara
Large Gravity Water Supply sanitation and Hygiene Promotion

2.
All Bidders should have registration certificate from the
Federal Ministry of Finance, renewed trade license for the year, VAT
registration certificate and Tax payer Registration Certificate.
3.
Bidders are invited to submit Financial and Technical
proposals of one original and one copy enclosed in a wax-sealed
envelope and accompanied by a Bid Bond of 1% of the bid price in the
form of CPO or Bank Guarantee. Bid bond in any other form shall not
be acceptable.
4. Bid
will be closed on March 26,2009 at 2:00 at 2:00 P>M local time and
Opened on the same date at 2:30P.M local time in the presence of
bidders or their representatives at Water Action ,Head Office
located adjacent to Lem Hotel, near Miracle College.
5. All
the GS pipes are effective length of 6 meter, medium (B) class,
pipes are sockets-in one end and PVC cap to the other end.
6. High
Density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes shall be suitable for cold water
supplies, all HDP pipes are Effective Length of 9 meter, Nominal
pressure of 10 bar, the required polyethylene pipes must have a
design stress of 6.3MPa (PE 80). The bidder is obliged to list all
chemicals against which the offered pipes are Non –resistant or of
limited resistance. The HDPE pipe will be made from quality virgin
material containing anti-oxidants UV stabilizer and pigments. The
Colour of the pipe black or black with the blue strips.
7. Delivery
is at the Ginchi Town Water Action Project Store, West Shoa Zone,
Oromia Region Located 80km from Addis Ababa, (i.e from Addis Ababa
via to Ambo Asphalt Road).
8.
The Bidder shall clearly indicate by writing in his Performa
the unit cost of each Pipe include Transport cost, loading and
unlading costs, and the delivery date.
9.
Bidders shall Supply all GS and HDPE pipe together or
separately.
10.
Final acceptance, of all items shall be after final
inspection of pipes delivered to Water Action Project store at
Ginchi Town.
11. If
the Supplier is not Manufacturer, he should provide singed and if
possible stamped suppliers Authorization from the manufacturer.
12. Water
Action reserves the right to reject all or parts of the bid.
