current Fiscal year.
1. The
Government of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has obtained a
Grant form the German Financial Cooperation for financing the “Urban
Development Fund” Portion of this fund has been allocated for Adama
City Administration, by the National Steering Committee, to wards
the cost of Construction Work of Access Road to New Settlement Areas
Project Lit 1 and 2.
2. The
Adama City Administration invites qualified contractors of the
stated category with relevant professional experience and valid
license for 2000 E.C. valid registration certificate from Ministry
of Works and Urban Development registered for VAT and to submit
wax-sealed tenders for the Civil Works Construction of Access Road
to New Settlement Areas phase I Project. The project is located in
the Oromia National Regional State, City of
Adama.
3. To
bid will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding.
4. The
work on offer mainly consists of the following components:

In Both cases, pipe culverts will be
constructed with reinforced concerted with reinforced concrete Inlet
and Outlet structures together with erosion protection are also
recommended throughout.
The gravel wearing coarse may be
natural gravel screen or crushed aggregate to meet the requirements
of the specifications.
5. A
bidder shall compete for lot 1 or 2 both and submit separate bidding
documents for each lot.

7. A
complete set of bidding documents may be purchased against payment
of a non-refundable fee of Birr 400.00 for each lot from the
Ministry of Works and Urban Development.
8. The
tender for each lot must be accompanied by a Tender Security in an
amount of ETB 100,000 in the form of a certified cheque, bank draft,
letter of credit, r bank guarantee from a reputable bank in Ethiopia
in the form provided in the Tender Documents.
9. Bidders
should submit one original and two copies in two separate sealed
envelopes” Qualification Information and Bid Security” and
“Financial Bid”
10. Tenders
must be delivered to the address given below No. 6 on or before 2:00
P.M on April 03, 2009.
11. Tenders
will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives
who choose to attend at the Conference Hall of Adama City
Administration, at 2:00 P.M local time on the same date.
