Project Name: Mekelle City Water Supply & Sanitation Project

1. The
Mekelle City Water Supply & Sewerage Service through the Government
of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit
& grant from the international Development Association (IDA) for the
City’s Water Supply and Sanitation project, and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds towards eligible payments under the contract
for the supply of 9, 0001/2 inch Water Meters, phase-II.
2. The
office now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders (with renewed
license & VAT & TIN registration certificate for the year under bid)
for the supply of the above.
3. The
goods delivery period is a maximum of 75days after contact signing.
4. Evaluation
of bid and award of contract will be made on a lot basis
5. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
according to the procedures specified in the World Bank Guideline.
6. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Mekelle
City Water Supply & Sewerage Service, and inspect the bidding
documents at the address given below.
7. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be Purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100
8. Bids
shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days after bid opening
and must be accompanied by bid security of Birr at least 1% of the
total bid price in the form of C.P.O or an irrevocable bank
guarantee.
9. Bids
shall be delivered to the Mekelle City Water Supply & Sewerage
Service, Mekelle, Tigray, office No.14 on April 03, 2009 at 4:00
P.M. & it will be opened in the same date at
4:30 P.M. In presence of the bidders/
their representatives who wish to attend Electronic bidding shall
not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.
10. The
office reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
