Supply and delivery of BICYCLE and MOTOR CYCLE 170-185 cc

1. This
invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared in Development Business of September 29, 2007.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has received credit
from the International Development Association towards the cost of
Rural Capacity Building Project (RCBP), and it intends to apply part
of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for
the supply and delivery of Motor cycles and Bicycle Men’s.
3. The
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Rural Capacity
Building Project, Coordination Office now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for the procurement of the following:

4. Bidding
will be conducted though the International Competitive Bidding (ICB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the
Bidding Documents at the address given below during working days
from 9:00 to 12:00 A.M. and from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.
6. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be
purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
Application to the address Stated below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee Birr 100.00 (One Hundred Birr) or an equivalent
amount in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will
be in Cash or CPO. The Bidding Documents will be sent first class
mail for overseas bidders who send a crossed bank draft of Birr
300.00 (Three Hundred Birr) or USD 35.00 or an equivalent amount in
a freely convertible currency in additional to the price of the bid
documents to the address given below. However, the Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development will not take any responsibility
for a late or non delivery of the bidding document sent by mail. No
extension in bid submission date is permitted on this account.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before
8:00 P.M. local time on April 22,
2009. Electronic bidding
will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be
opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to
attend in person or on-line at the address below at 8;30 P.M.
local time on April 22,
2009. All bids must be
accompanied by a Bid Security of Birr 100.000. For Lot 1 and Birr
30,000 for lot 2 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency.
