IFB Title: Procurement of vehicles
1. This
invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this
project that appeared in Development Business, issue no 697 of 16
May 2006.
2. The
Federal government of Ethiopia has received for a
credit from the international Development Association toward the
cost of Electricity access expansion project and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract
for procurement of vehicles tender no. EAEP 5/2001
3. The
Ethiopian Electric power Corporation now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of 25 Double cabinet
pick ups in lot 1 and 2 Automobile Sedan in lot 2 Bidders may bid
for one or both lots.
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guide lines
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits edition May 2004, and
is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in
the Guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the
Bidding Documents at the address below (address 1) from 8:00 A.M. up
to 5:00 P.M. from Monday to Friday:
6. A
margin of preference for eligible domestic manufactures shall be
applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
7. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the
address below (address 2) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee
ETB 300 or in USD 35 from the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation,
Procurement division, Head office starting from 09 March, 2009 The
method of payment shall be in cash or cashier’s cheque.
8. The
bidding document may also be sent by airmail or carrier service for
overseas bidders who cover all carrier costs in addition to the
above fee.
9. Bids
must be delivered to the address below (address 2) at or before 06
May, 2009 at 2:00 P.M Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will rejected Bids
will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who
choose to attend in person. Bids will be opened at
Mexico Square, EEPCo Club on 06 May
2009 at 3:00P.M. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security not less than 300,000
Birr and 30,000 Birr for Lot 1
and 2 respectively or in any freely convertible currency. The Bid
Security shall be valid 28 days beyond the validity period of the
Bid.
