The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a loan form the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in various currencies equivalent to USD 27.2 Million towards the cost of the Agricultural Marketing Improvement Program (AMIP), and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payment under this contract for the procurement of Grain Quality Control and Fumigation Equipments which are sated here under.

ITEM 1: Riffle Divider, Stainless Steel Dividers/Galvanized Iron pans (11 each)

ITEM 2: Air Tight Fumigation Sheet (200 each).

ITEM 3: GAS Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) (one set)

ITEM 4: Truck Probe (one set)

ITEM 5: Forceps Curved and Flattened End (II)

ITEM 6: Grain Sieves Sets 20mm Brass/Lid and Receiver (11)

Payments by IFAD will be made only at the requested of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) and upon approval by the IFAD, and will be subject, in all respects, to the terms and conditions of the Loan Agreement.

The Loan Agreement prohibits a withdrawal from the Loan Account for the purpose of any payment to person or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment of import, to the knowledge of IFAD, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than FDRE shall derive any rights from the Loan Agreement or have any claim to loan proceeds.

Ethiopian Grant Trade Enterprise on behalf of Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development (MoARD) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of the above mentioned items.

Bidding will be conducted though the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the IFADís procurement guidelines: procurement under IFAD Loans. It is open to all bidders form eligible source counties as defined in the guidelines. Bidders may offer prices for each item or for all items.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ethiopian Grain Trade Enterprise, Manpower and Property Administration Department and inspect the bidding documents during working Hours from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. and from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the address given below.

A complete set of bidding document in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of written application to the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee Birr 100.00 (Hundred Birr) or USD 12:00 or equivalent in freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be in cash or Bank Payment Order.

Bids must be delivered to the Office whose address is specified below on or before 3 July 2009 at 10:00 A.M. and must be accompanied by a bid security not less than 2 percent of the bid amount in the form of Bank guarantee, CPO or certified Cheque. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidderís or their representatives who choose to attend at 10:30 A.M. on 3 July 2009 at the address indicated below.
