IFB Title: Supply and Delivery of Assorted IT Equipment
1. This
invitation for bids follows the General procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of Rural
Capacity Building Project/Agricultural Research and intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract
for the supply and delivery assorted of IT equipment.
3. The
Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research/Rural Capacity Building
Project now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders
for the supply and delivery of assorted IT equipments as follows.

Bidders can bid for one lot or for
more lots. Bidders must give technically responsive bid for at least
90% of the items in the lot and for 100% of the quantities for each
item. Bidders who have not quoted a technically responsive bid for
at least 90% of the items in the lot and 100% of the quantities for
each item will be considered as incomplete and rejected as
non-responsive.
4. Bidding
will be conducted though the International Competitive bidding (ICB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Countries as defiled in the Guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project
Coordinating Office of RCBP and inspect the bidding documents at the
address given below from 9:0-0 A.M. to 12:00 noon and 2:00 P.M. to
5:00 P.M. (local time).
6. Qualification
requirements include provision of documentary evidence showing
technical and financial capacity as well as relevant experience of
the bidder from reputable institutions as specified in the Bidding
documents. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured
domestically shall be applied. Additional details are provided in
the bidding documents.
7. A
complete set of Bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders as of May 4, 2009 (Monday-Friday) 9:00 A.M. to
12:00 noon and 2:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. on the submission of a written
application to the address below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee Birr 200 (Two Hundred) or an equivalent amount in
a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cash or
cashier check. The Biding Documents will be sent by 1st
class mail for overseas bidders who send Bank Draft of Birr 400
(Four Hundred) or USD 40 (Forty) or an equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency in addition to the price of the document to the
address given below.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:30 P.M. (Local
time) on June 18, 200. Electronic bidding will not be permitted.
Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of
the bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at the
address below at 3:00 P.M. (Local time) on June 18, 2009. All bids
must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 5000 (Five Thousand)
for each lot or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency.
