UNITED NATIONS POPULATION FUND
Request for Proposal
Ref: UNFPA/ETH/RFP/01/2009
For Production and Broadcasting of One Year
Radio Program on Reproductive Health
Since 2007, the
Thematic Fund for Reproductive Health Commodity Security (RHCS)
which finances the Global Programme has helped United Nations
Population Fund (UNFPA) work with national governments to carry our
the diverse and multi-faceted work needed to achieve RHCS. UNFPA
developed the Global Programme specifically to help countries plan
for their own needs in this area. The Global Programme is designed
to act as a catalyst to national action and the prioritization and
subsequent mainstreaming of RHCS into national health policies,
programmes, budgets and plans. As a result, countries are beginning
to move towards more predictable, planned and sustainable country
driven approaches to securing essential supplies and ensuring their
use.
Achieving RHCS
requires integrated effort in the political. Technical/programmatic
and procurement/supply spheres. This in turn requires advocacy and
awareness creation on Reproductive Health and RHCS. To this end the
UNFPA Country Office would like to work in collaboration with a
national radio station or a radio program production firm in
Ethiopia to produce and broadcast magazine format radio program
reaching the direct beneficiaries and government officials, leaders,
policy markers, health workers, the youth and the community at
large.
In this context,
UNFPA Ethiopia Country Office invites proposals from interested and
qualified firms for the above-mentioned professional services. The
technical and financial proposals should be submitted in separated
sealed envelopes on/or before
Monday, June 15, 2009 at 10:00 A.M.
Late offers shall be
rejected.
