1.      This invitation for bid follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development business; issue WB2837-732/08 on July 16, 2008

2.      The Harar Municipality has received a credit from the international Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of urban government development project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under contract for the procurement of Abattoir Construction

3.      The Harar municipality invites sealed bids from eligible BC class 4 and above with license valid for the year bidders for the provision of Abattoir Construction. The work shall be completed within 240 calendar days.

4.      Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank guideline.

5.      Interested eligible bidders may  obtain further information from The Harar Municipality and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below at Harar Municipality ULGDP Coordinating Office. P.O. Box 46, Tel. 0256667037 or 0256660002, Fax 0256663707, E-mail Harar_munic@ethionet.et,  Harar, Ethiopia, Monday to Friday during Office hours (8:30 A.M – 12:00 P.M. 2:30 P.M -5:00 P.M local time).

6.      A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of written application at the address above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 200 The method of payment will be the form of cash, starting from may 27, 2009.

7.      Bids must be delivered to the address below on 3: 00 A.M and Monday June 29,2009 and must be accompanied by bid security of 100,000 Birr in the form of CPO with separate sealed envelope. Late bids shall be rejected.

8.      Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/ representatives who choose to attend to the address below at 3:30 A. M Monday June 29, 2009.

9.      The ULGDP coordinating office of the Harar municipality has the right to reject any or all bids.
