Invitation to Tender for transportation of food and
Non-food aid to different destinations
Save the Children UK has been
operational in Ethiopia Since 1973 and it had developed into one of
the largest NGOs in the country. Currently Save the Children UK
operates a Programme that straddles support to Government Safety
Net programme with a wide range of programming encompassing three
thematic areas of work i.e. Health/HIV/AIDS, Education and Hunger
Reduction. The programme works to ensure quality programming on the
ground, forms the basis upon which to advocate for greater changes
in policy and practice by key duty beares at regional, national and
global levels. All of Save the Children UK programme activities and
many advocacy initiatives take place in Save the children UK’s three
operational areas of Amhara, Somali and Afar national Regional
State.
Save the Children UK (SCUK) Addis
Ababa office hereby invites interested trucking companies to provide
price quotations for Birr/Ton/Km to transport food and non-food
supplies from Addis Ababa, Kombolcha and Dessie warehouses to
different destinations in Amhara (North and South Wollo) and Wag
Himra Zones, Oromia, Dire Dawa, Somali, Afar and other destinations
mentioned in the bid documents to award a contract to a successful
winner for 6 months period with possible extension.
The Tender Notice period will be from
May 25, 2009 up June 15, 2009 at 4:30 P.M and bid documents will be made readily available for sale commencing
from the date of advertisement up to
June 15, 2009 at 4:30 P.M upon payment of Birr 30 (Birr Thirty) from SCUK office. Interested
bidders are required to fill and deliver their quotations in a
wax-sealed envelope during the above given period every day at
working hours stating from 8:30 to 12:00 A.M in the morning and from
1:30 to 4:302 P.M in the afternoon and drop them in the Tender Box
which will be kept at the reception. The receptionist will keep a
log of all tenders submitted and will issue for each tender with a
uniquely numbered acknowledgment receipt which could help to track
it and the envelope should not have any details relating to the bid
being submitted on the outside.
Price quotations received will be
opened on June 18, 2009 at 10:00 A.M at SCUK’s meeting hall in presence of Procurement Committee and the
bidders or their representatives for subsequent contract agreement
with the winner company after a bid analysis (CBA) takes place.
Requirements to be fulfilled by the
interested bidder
1. A
valid registration certificate from MOFED (copy to be attached with
the quotation)
2. A
valid Tax Certificate with TIN Number (copy to be attached with the
quotation)
3. Ownership
certificate at least for 5 or more trucks with 10 MT’s loading
capacity each and above (copies to be attached with the quotation)
Save the Children UK reserves the
right to accept or reject any of the bids in whole or part thereof
and is not bound to give reasons.
