This request for expressions of
interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project
that was posted on dg Market on Dec. 09, 2004. The Government of the
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the World Bank towards the cost of Ethiopian Nile Irrigation and
Drainage Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the
Credit to consultant services.
The overall objective of the project
is to contribute to rural income growth through increase in area
irrigated and effectiveness of existing irrigated area through
investments that are cost effective, environmentally and socially
sound and beneficial to the rural poor.
The current consultancy assignment is
to prepare Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) for affected parties as a
consequence of the above mentioned irrigation and drainage schemes
to meet World Bank standards. The proposed RAP will ensure that the
World Bank safeguard OP 4.12 for involuntary resettlement and
national requirements for land and property losses and resettlement
are adequately addressed. Environmental and Social Impact Assessment
(ESIA) for each scheme are being separately prepared.
The Ministry of Water Resources now
re-invites (after cancellation of the first bid) competent
consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the above
services.
Interested Consultants must provide
information indicating their professional capability and experience
to perform the services; such information should Consultants must
provide information indicating their qualifications.
A consultants will be selected in
accordance with the producers set out in the World Bank’s
Guidelines: Selection and Employment Consultants by World Bank
Borrowers, Revised October 2006. Consultant will be recruited on
International Competitive Bidding (ICB) basis.
Written expressions of interest must
be delivered to the address below not later than June 19,2009.
