Procurement of Computer and Other Equipment
1. This
invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared in Development Business of 24 December 2008.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received credit from the
International Development Association toward the cost of
Sustainable Land Management Project (SLMP), and it intends to
apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the
Contract for the supply and delivery of Computers with accessories.
3. The
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Procurement and
Property Administration Directorate now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for the procurement and supply of the
following.

4. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all
bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the guidelines.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development Procurement and Property
Administration Directorate and inspect the Bidding Documents at
the address given below during working days from 9:00
to 12:00 a.m. and from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
6. Qualifications
requirements include: Manufacturer authorization certificate.
Documentary evidence to Past Experience and Capability in the last
three (3) years with similar assignment. Additional details are
provided in the Bidding Documents.
7. A
complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be
purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
Application to the address stated below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee Ethiopian Birr 150 /One Hundred Fifty Ethiopian
Birr/ or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The
method of payment will be Cash or CPO. The Bidding Documents will be
sent by first class mail for overseas bidders who send a crossed
bank draft of Birr 300.00 (Three Hundred Birr) or USD 35.00 or an
equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in addition to
the price of the bid documents to the address given below. However,
the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will not take any
responsibility for a late or non delivery of the bidding document
sent by mail. No extension in bid submission date is permitted on
this account.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 p.m. on
January 11, 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late
bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/ representatives who choose to attend in person at the
address below at 2:15 p.m. on January 11, 2010. All bids must be
accompanied by a Bid Security of Eth. Birr 5,000.00 for each lot or
15,000.00 for all lots or its equivalent in a freely convertible
