1. The
Mettu Town Administration has allocated fund, with Oromia National
Regional State, to be used for the procurement of contracts for the
construction works of Mettu Town internal asphalt
road.
2. The
Oromia Roads Authority (ORA), on behalf of Mettu Town Administration
& Oromia National Regional government, now invites registered
contractors of Category GC-3 or RC-3 and above with their
professional and trade license valid for the year 2002/2001 E.C.,
registered for VAT and having tax clearance certificate (for local
contracts) and any relevant professional practice certificate and
its trading license or equivalent (for foreign contractors) to
submit sealed bids for providing the necessary labor, material and
equipment for Mettu Town internal asphalt Road Project. Mettu Town is situated in Ilu Aba Bora
Zone (Capital of the Zone) of the Oromia National Regional Sate,
which is 600 Km away from Finfinne, along Finfinne-Jimma/
Nekempt-Bedele-Mettu-Gore trunk road.
3. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the bidding documents, and are open to all
eligible bidders.
4. The
works to be carried out under this contract comprises the
construction of asphalt road to a standard of double surface
treatment road which is approximately 4.30 km long. The
project road is located in Mettu Town, Ilu Aba Bora Zone of the
Oromia National Regional State. The
start of the project is Arat Kilo and ends at
Mettu University,
(with in the Town). Presently there
is an existing gravel road.
5. The
project work is the construction of double surface treatment asphalt
road. The road will have a 7m carriageway width, 1.2m ditch
and 80cm walkway, on both sides, throughout its length. The
construction of the road is estimated to take 360 calendar days.
6. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the
bidding documents at the Oromia Roads Authority at the address given
below from 8:30 to 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. from Monday to
Thursdays and 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday
local time. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be
purchased by interested bidders as of the 1st
announcement of the bid on the Ethiopian Herald Newspaper at the
address given below upon presentation of the document mentioned
under item (2) above and a written application to the ORA and upon
payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 750.00.
7. Bidders
shall submit two envelopes, “Qualification Information and Bid
Security” and ‘Financial Offer” separately sealed and the two
envelopes should also be sealed in an outer single envelope.
8. Evaluation
shall be carried out in two stages, Qualification Information first
and Financial Bids of qualified Bidders next.
9. Bids
must be delivered to the address below on or before
December 07, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.
All bids must be accompanied by a
bid security of ETB 100,000.00. Late bids will be rejected.
Bid and bid security will be opened in the presence of
bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the address below on
December 07, 2009 at 3:30
p.m.
