1. This
invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this
project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business;
issue No. 587, Volume 25 of July 31, 2002.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development Association towards the cost of the
Urban Local Government Development Projects and intends to apply
part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for
the Dilla Urban Drainage rehabilitation Project for which
this invitation for bids is issued.
3. Dilla
City Administration now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders
for the Dilla Urban Drainage Rehabilitation Project. Bidding
will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and is open to all eligible
bidders. Contractors of Category GC/WWC-4 and above, with
license valid for the year 2009/10 are eligible to participate in
the bid.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the
bidding document at Dilla City Administration, P.O. Box 15, Tel.
+251 46 331 26 68, Fax No. +251 46 331 45 64, Dilla, SNNPRS,
Ethiopia, Monday to Friday during office hours (8:30 a.m. – 12:30
noon 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. local time).
5. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the
address above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 500
(Five Hundred Ethiopian Birr only).
6. Bids
must be delivered to the address below on or before 2:00 p.m. on
December 24, 2009 and must be accompanied by a bid security of not
less than Birr 100,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency.
7. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders who choose to attend at
2:00 p.m. on December 24, 2009 at Dilla Town Municipality, ULGDP/
Coordinating Office.
8. Dilla
City Administration reserves the right to accept or reject any or
all bids.
