INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING

1.      The Ethiopian Sugar Development Agency (ESDA) invites sealed bids from interested eligible International Bidders for the supply of 60,000 MT +0/-5% White Cane Sugar for February 2010 shipment.

2.      A complete set of bidding documents in English Language may be purchased by interested bidders at the address below from the first date of this announcement, during office hours, up on payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 300.

3.      Principal bidders must be a full member of The Sugar Association of London (SAL) or the Refined Sugar Association (RSA).

4.      Local agents are required to submit copy of valid trade license, VAT Registration Certificate, letter of representation & Certificate of membership in SAL & RSA from the principal to collect the bidding documents on behalf of the principal bidders.

5.      Bids must be accompanied by bid security amounting USD 100,000 or equivalent in Ethiopian Birr at the prevailing exchange rate in the form of CPO or Bank Guarantee from Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, which will be payable on first demand by ESDA.

6.      Sealed bids should be submitted latest by 10:00 a.m. local time on 16^th January 2010 to the address below

7.      The bids shall be opened in the presence of the bidders/ representatives who choose to attend at the conference hall of ESDA, Mexico Square, Philips Building, 4^th Floor, Room no. 408 at 10:30 a.m. local time on 16^th January 2010.

8.      ESDA reserves all right to accept or reject any or all bids or cancel the tender without giving reasons thereof.
