1. This
invitation for bid follows the general procurement notice for this
project that appeared in Development business, issue WB2837-732/08
on July 16, 2008
2. The
Harari People National Regional State has a received credit from the
International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of
decentralized service delivery project and it intends to apply part
of the proceeds of this credit to payments under contract of the
procurement of Harari Abattoir construction Civil Works.
3. The
Harari People National
Regional State, Harar Municipality
invites wax-sealed bids from eligible
bidders with license valid for the year 2002 E.C for the provision
of abattoir (Muslim Slaughter house, Cristian Slaughter house,
Administration block, three guard houses and Fence works).
4. Bidding
will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank guide line. Procurement under
IDA credit is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.
5. Interested

6. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on submission of written application at the
address above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian
Birr 350. The method of payment will be in the form of cash starting
form November 26, 2009.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below on or before
9:00 a.m. and Monday December 28,
2009 and must be accompanied by a bid security of not less 100,000
ET Birr in the form of CPO, an unconditional guarantee issued by a
bank or surety, an irrevocable letter of credit and a cashier’s or
certified check. Bid security should be submitted in a separate sealed envelope. Late
bids shall be rejected.
8. Bids
will be opened in the presence of the bidders/ representatives who
choose to attend at the address below at 9:30 a.m. Monday December
28, 2009.
