Our Reference: Eth. 1065-2006 Cross-Woyene Haffir Dam remaining works

To All contractors of category GC/WC 5 and above with renewed license from Ministry of works and Urban and/or Development for the year 2001 E.C. and are VAT registered.

1.      Welthaungerhilfe/ German Agro Action, is an international humanitarian NGO (Bonn, Germany), is working in ca. 50 countries with a budget of ca. 110 Mio, Î/year. Ca. 33% of the budget originates from private donations (360,000 donors), 77% from public grants: the German Government (20%), EU (26%), USAID (3%), WFP (13%), others. GAA has a country office in Ethiopia since 35 yrs. Relief in many years and countries of famine has been a major activity in the past decades. Welthungerhilfe/ German. Agro Action is currently on recommencemtn of the project Enhanced Water Forage-and food Security in Aware/Degehabur-Eth. 1065 which the operation had been interrupted in September, 2008. The very project which this tender announcement is made is typical in that W/GAA has entered into self implementation. As the main dam construction is nearly completed the rest of the dam parts i.e. Silt trap, Spillway, Water system (shallow well, cistern, different animal troughs (7 in total), water pump etc.) and fencing of the whole dam area with iron bar and barbed wire are to be finalized to avail the dam to the users.

2.      A complete set of bid document can be collected by interested and eligible bidders starting from 5^th November, 2009 and must be submitted to the address indicated below on or before 14^th November, 2009 at 12:30 a.m.

4.      Bids should be submitted with one original and one copy wax-sealed envelope before or on the closing date on the bid announcement.

5.      All bids must be accompanied by bid security, an amount of which is 2%of their offer in the form of a CPO along with the bid document at the same address indicated below.

6.      Bids will be closed on 14^th November 2009 at 12:30 p.m. The bid will be opened on 16^th November 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at W/GAA regional office, Addis Ababa in the presence of the bidders or legal representatives.

7.      Bidders are required to full fill the necessary details indicated in the bid document

8.      Completion time of the work is not more than 60 calendar days after signing of the contract.

9.      German Agro Action reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
