Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has allocated budget
towards the cost of the Gedo-Fincha-Lemelem Berha Roads upgrading
Project, Contract 1: Gedo (Km 0.0) Mana Begna (Km 80.5) and Contract
2: Mana Begna (Km 80.5) Lemelem Bereha (Km 144.3), and intends to
apply part of the proceeds to eligible payments for the construction
projects are located in western part of Ethiopia, in West Shoa and
Horo Gurdu zone of the Oromia National Regional State. The work
consists of construction of 80.5 km of the road from Gedo to Mana
Begna (Contract 1) and 63.8km of the road from Manna Begna to
Lemelem Bereha (Contract 2). The sections are upgrading roads with a
DS4 road class (ERA’s Geometric Design manual-2002). The upgraded
road shall have a cross-section width of 7.0m outside town (with
variable shoulder width, normally 2x1.5mbut reduces in mountainous
sections to 2x0.5m and 12m width within town sections. The formation
of the road segments are 27.5cm granular sub-base, 20cm granular
road base, and 5cm asphalt concrete wearing course for Contract 1
and 25.0cm granular sub-base, 17.5cm granular road base, and 5cm
asphalt concrete wearing course for Contract 2.
The terrain can be classified as
rolling for most of the project.
Ethiopian Roads Authority now invites eligible bidders, which
fulfill the following requirements, to submit sealed bids for the
construction of the road project mentioned in (1):-
