Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
allocated budget towards the cost of Jodjo-Edjere –Arerti_ Gobensa,
Sembo –Sholagebeya –Gorfo_Gobensa, and Metahbila Metehara Roads
Project, Contract III- Lot 1: Sembo –Shola Gebeya Gorfo –Gindeber
and intends to apply part of the proceds to eligible payments for
Works to be carried out under this contract comprises the upgrading
of the road frm Sembo to Gindeber, through Shola Gebeya and Gorfo,
which is part of the Modjo-Edjere-Arerti-Gobensa, Sembo-Shola Gebeya
–Grofo –Gobensa, and Meteh Bila-Metehara Roads Project. The first
25km is an existing rural road which is gravel-surfaced, and the
next 10km is low level gravel surfaced rural road and the remaining
section, 24km, is a trail that will be upgraded to a paved surface
standard (Triple Surface Treatment). The project road mostly follows
the existing road mostly follows the existing road and trail
alignment and with significant portion of new alignment. The project
road proposed horizontal alignment generally traverses close to the
existing route and trial with some offline improvement and new
alignment sections to achieve the desired design standards. There is
considerable volume of earthwork within the project road. The
construction period is 1095 calendar days.
Ethiopian Roads Authority now invites bidders to submit sealed bids
for providing the necessary labour, material and equipment for the
construction of the road project.
