Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has allocated budget
towards the cost of the Buahit-Dilibza Design and Build Road
Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds to eligible
payments for the design and construction works.
project road is located in the Amhara Regional State. The work under
this contract consist of the design and construction of 57.8 km of
Buahit-Dilibza Road Project. The road begins at Buahit which is
located on the Debark-Mekaneberhan road about 140km from Gondar town
and 70km from Debark Woreda.
The work under this contract consists
of Design and Construction of new road, part of which is
under construction by the Amhara Rural Road Authority on gravel
surfaced basis, to Double Bituminous Surface Treatment (DBST)
road standard and construction of minor and major drainage
structures using the available designs prepared in 2005 and 2006 as
a scope or preliminary design.
The project area is part of a high
mountain massive in northern Ethiopia with altitude ranging from
3100 m to 4300 m above sea level including Ras Dashen, the highest
peak in the Horn of Africa. The area is typified by generally high
elevation and dissected terrain with rolling to hilly plateau in
many parts, and steep to very steep valley sides. The topography is
mostly rugged with deep gorges, dissected plateau and escarpments,
which give the area its characteristics unique features.
Ethiopian Roads Authority now invites eligible bidders, which
fulfill the following requirements, to submit sealed bids for the
construction of the road project mentioned in (1):-

from Ministry of Works and Urban Development with Category GC-I or
RC-I renewed for 2001 EFY, and other appropriate documentary
evidences demonstrating the bidder’s compliance which shall
