Invitation for Bids (IFB), pastoral Community Development project

The Somali Regional has received a fund for the development of the marginalized bulk pastoralists of the region under pastoral Community Development project II. The project is co-funded by

the World Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Government of Ethiopia. Thus, the Regional project Coordination Unit intends part of the fund to payments under the contract for the supply of Water pumps Generators for the completed agricultural projects to make them operational.

1.      The Somali Region Coordination Unit now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of:
Lot I: 69 Small size water pumps Generators
Bidders not giving a technically responsive offer for 100% of the items in a lot will be treated as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive.

2.      Bidding will be conducted under the National Competitive Bidding procedures n accordance with the World Bank  Guidelines: procurement under IBRD Loans & IDA  Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in Guidelines.

3.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Somali Region project Coordination Unit Tel. (025) 7757391 jijiga and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below Monday to Friday during Office hours.

4.      A complete set of bidding document may be purchased by interested eligible bidders on the submission of a written application to Somali Region project Coordination Unit upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100.00.

5.      Bids must be submitted to Somali Regional Coordination Unit, Jijiga at or before 2:30 pm on May 20, 2010.

6.      All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 2% of the bid price in the form of CPO, Certified Cheque Bank Grantee or Insurance.

7.      Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend at Somali Regional Project Coordination Unit, Office of the procurement officer Jijiga at 3:00 pm on May 20, 2010.
