National Competitive Bidding (NCB)

1.      The SNNP Regional State Sidama Zone Dara Woreda Water, Mine & Energy Office through the Government of Ethiopia has received credit and grant from the International Development Association toward the cost of the Water Supply and Sanitation Project and it intends to apply part of funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for Teferi Kella Town Small Works Contract-Civil and E & M supply and installation.

2.      The SNNP Regional State Sidama Zone Dara Woreda Water, Mine & Energy Office now invites sealed bids from local or international eligible bidders for the construction of Teferi Kella Small Works Contract-Civil Work and E & M Supply and Installation Project in Dara Woreda of Sidama Zone in the region.

3.      The project in short comprises, Construction of 2 (Two) valve chambers, Pipe line supply & Installation of Pipes and fittings, supply and installation of 1 (One) generator and 1(One) submersible pump, 1 (One) generator house construction and other appurtenant works for Teferi Kella Water Supply Project.

4.      Bidding will be conducted through a National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedure specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders form eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.      Bids shall be valid for a period of Ninety (90) days after bid opening.

6.      Bids must be accompanied by bid security of 20,000 Birr in the form of bank guarantee or CPO and shall remain valid for 120 (One Hundred Twenty) days. Insurance bond is not acceptable.

7.      Bidders must obtain registration for category GC 6 or WC 6 and above with valid license for the current year.

8.      Qualification requirements include: 1/owener ship and/or existing lease of relevant equipment and machinery 2/experience in water works construction 3/availability of relevant experienced personnel as part provided in the bidding document with others additional details.

9.      A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application and copies of necessary renewed license with originals from SNNP Regional State Sidama Zone Dara Woreda Water, Mine & Energy Office, Room Number 02, Kewado Town, Tel. 046 66 00 464 at or before 2:00 P.M. on 30th day of announcement of this invitation for bids notice on The Ethiopian Herald Newspaper upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 200.

10.  Bids must be delivered to the SNNP Regional State Sidama Zone Dara Woreda Water, Mines & Energy Office, Room Number 02, Kewado Town, Tel. 046 66 00 at or before 2:00 P.M. on 30th day of announcement of this invitation for bid notice on The Ethiopian Herald Newspaper.

11.  Electric bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.

12.  Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/their representatives who choose to attend in person at 2:30 P.M. on 30th day of this announce on The Ethiopian Herald News Paper SNNP Regional State Sidama Zone Dara Woreda Water, Mine & Energy Office, Kewado Town. If there will be public holiday on this date, the closing and opening of the closing and opening of the bid will take place on the next working day at the same time and the same venue.

13.  The SNNP Regional State Sidama Zone Dara Woreda Water, Mines & Energy Office reserves the right to rejection all or part of the bid.
