IFB Title: Supply of Dewatering pumps and Spare parts

1.      The Amhara National Regional State through the government of Ethiopia has received financing from the World  Bank IDA/DFID for the Water Supply and under the contract for procurement of Dewatering pumps and Water quality kits tender I.D. No. ARWRB/DW/001/2010 and AWRDB/WQ/001/2010 for the Rural Water Supply and sanitation program in the region.

2.      The Regional Water Resources Development Bureau now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of a minimum of 36 Dewatering pumps, Generators, spare part and 36 Water Quality kits in 2lots. Partial bids within a lot will not be acceptable and one bid for one lot only.

3.      Bidding will be carried through National Competitive Bidding process (NCB) as specified in the World Banks Guidelines: procurement under IBRD loans and IDA credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.

4.      To be qualified for contract award, supplier should have delivered at least two contracts of similar type and quantity in the last five years, and pumps, generators and water quality kits must be manufactured by companies that have fabricated for the last in annual quantities at least three times that is to be supplied under this contract, Additional details are provided in the bidding documents.

5.      Bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders at Amhara Regional Water Resources Development Bureau, Room No. 03, Bahir Dar Town for a non-refundable fee of Birr 100,00(One Hundred Ethiopian Birr) upon submission of written application. Bidders may obtain further information at the same address.

6.      Bids must be delivered to the same address mentioned above, at or before 10:00 am after 28 calendar days from the first announcement of this notice on the Ethiopian Herald. Electronic bidding will not b e permitted. Late bids will be rejected.

7.      Bid closing date shall be May 20, 2010 at 10:00 am.

8.      Bids will be opened in presence of bidders or representatives who choose to attend in person at (10:30 am at same date place) (at the Conference room). Bids shall be valid for a period of one Hundred and Twenty (120)  days after bid opening and must be accompanied by bid security amount stated on table above in unconditional Bank guarantee or CPO OR CASH. The Bureau reserves the right to reject all or part of the bid.
