Gambella Regional State Water, Mines and Energy Resources
Development Bureau through Ethiopian Government has received grant
from Department for International Development (DFID) towards the
cost of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project and it intends
to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the
Contract for Shallow Well Drilling and Construction.
Gambella Regional Water, Mines and Energy Resources Development
Bureau now invites sealed bids from qualified eligible bidders for
the construction of the following numbers of boreholes.

shall be opened at 4:00 P.M. local time of the same day in the
presence of the bidders who wish to attend. Electronic bidding will
not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.
requirements include: (i) ownership (or existing lease) of a
suitable drilling rig, (ii) completion of at least two borehole
construction contractors of similar size in each of the last one
year, (iii) average annual turnover of 1.5 times the bid value for
shallow wells in each of last one year, (iv) liquid assets of at
least 1/3 of the bid price and (vi) experienced drilling team. A
margin of presence for eligible national bidders shall be applied,
as appropriate. Additional details are provided in the bidding

directly from the Water, Mines and Energy Resources Development
Bureau upon payment of a non-refundable fee Birr 150 and provision
of 2001/2002 E.C. renewed relevant license and permit from concerned
Ministries by interested bidders on submission of a written
application to the address indicated below.
