PROCUREMENT OF Mammography machine

1.      This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in development business on April 30, 2008 issue No.725.

2.      The federal democratic republic of Ethiopia has received a grant from the international development Association and other Donors toward the cost of protection of basic service phase I-component 2, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of his grant to payments under the contacts for procurement of Mammography Machine.

3.      The federal  Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, pharmaceuticals fund and supply Agency now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of 1 (one) Mammography Machine.

4.      Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bankís Guidelines: procurement under IBRD Loan and IDA credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.      Qualifications requirements include:

a)      Financial capability: A minimum average annual turnover of two times the bid price offered, over the last five years; and

b)      Experience and Technical capacity: Having successfully completed a minimum of two contacts each of similar nature and size within the last five years and

c)      A valid quality system certificate issued by a recognized certifying authority (e.g. ISO, DIN, TUV, BSI, etc.) should be submitted.

6.      A complete set of bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee Ethiopian Birr 100 (one hundred birr) or equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Those who want the bids document to be sent by a courier service shall pay an additional amount of ETB 515 or equivalent in a freely convertible currency for a courier service charge or send a prepaid courier services coupon. The method of payment will be in cash or cahierís payment order (C.P.O) or direct deposit to pharmaceuticals fund and supply Agency A/C No.CBB 01246730145 with construction and business bank piazza branch Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

7.      Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2:00 pm may 6th, 2010.electronic bidding will be not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders authorized representatives who choose to attend in person at the conference hall of pharmaceuticals fund and supply Agency, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 2:30 pm May 6th 2010, bids must be accompanied by a bid security amounting USD 1000 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency.
