1.      Arbaminch University invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for:

1.1   The supply and delivery of laboratory and workshop equipment and materials for different departments.

 Lot 1: Laboratory equipment (for college of health science)
 Lot 2: Laboratory equipment and chemicals (departments of chemistry)
 Lot 3: Equipment for nutrition and dairy laboratory (departments of
           animal Science)
Lot 4: consumable Laboratory and workshop Equipment and materials
           (Engineering departments)
Lot 5: GIS laboratory equipment (for department of geography and
           Environmental studies)

1.2   The upgrading of the university data and network control center

              Lot 6: supply and installation of new electrical materials for the
              data center

Lot 7: supply and installation of a KVA UPS
Lot 8: supply and installation of a partitioning wall and door inside the
 Center, and supply and installation of data center raised floor
9: supply and installation of access control system to the data

2.      Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open tendering procedures contained in the public procurement proclamation of the government of federal democratic republic of Ethiopia and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

3.      Bidders should have business license valid for the current year, registration certificate, supporting letters and VAT registration from respective mandated authorities of the federal democratic republic of Ethiopia (for local bidders)

4.       A complete set of bidding  documents can be purchased by interested bidders from AMU purchasing main division in Arbamich or Addis Ababa liaison office located in front of American Embassy at curriculum divisions building room No. 251 during office hours upon payment of anon-refundable fee  Ethiopian birr 200 (two hundred birr) for each lot.

5.      Bidders participating in this bidding and which are agents of the manufactures of the lots of goods in the bid shall submit a letter of agency from the manufactures.

6.     All bids must be accompanied by security bond in the form of CPO, certified cheque or bank guarantees in the name of Arbamich University for:

6.1. Lot 1: Ethiopian birr 50,000(fifty thousand birr)
6.2. Lot 2: Ethiopian birr 30,000(thirty thousand birr)
6.3. Lot 3: Ethiopian birr 40,000(forty thousand birr)
6.4. Lot 4: Ethiopian birr 40,000(forty thousand birr)
6.5. Lot 5: Ethiopian birr 25,000(twenty five thousand birr)
6.6. Lot 6: Ethiopian birr 20,000(twenty thousand birr)
6.7 Lot 7: Ethiopian birr 15,000(fifteen thousand birr)
6.8 Lot 8: Ethiopian birr 10,000(ten thousand birr)
6.9 Lot 9: Ethiopian birr 10,000(ten thousand birr)

7.  Bidders have options to bid in all or partially for lots maintained

8.  The bid shall remain valid for a period of 90 days after the date of bid      

1.      Bidders should submit their bid document in sealed envelope into the tender box prepared for this purpose at AMU liaison office, Addis Ababa located in front of American Embassy at curriculum divisions building room No.251 before the closing date of the tender that is April 7, 2010 unto 10:00 am local time (30days after the first announcement of this bid on the Ethiopian herald)

2.      Bids will be opened for lots 1-5 on the same date at 10:00 am local time and for lots 6-9 on April 8, 2010 at 2:30 local time at AMU liaison office, Addis Ababa room No. 251 in the presence of the bidders or their legal representatives who choose to attend

3.      Bids received after the tender box has been sealed will be rejected and returned up opened.

4.      The delivery place for goods is at Arbaminch University store and therefore price should be quoted accordingly.

5.      Arbaminch University reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids.
