1.      This invitation for bid follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in dgMarket on August 7, 2009 and October 12, 2009.

2.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a grant from the International Development Association and other Donors toward the cost of Protection of Basic Services-Phase II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to payments under the contract for Procurement of Medical Equipments.

3.      The Pharmaceuticals Fund & Supply Agency (PFSA) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for:

4.      Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Pharmaceuticals Fund & Supply Agency, Tel. 251 11 275 17 70 Or 251 11 276 32 73, Fax 251 11 276 25 55, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 8:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M. and 1:30 P.M.-5:30 P.M. local time. Monday to Friday, expected on public holidays.

6.      Qualifications requirements include: (a) Financial Capability. The Bidder shall furnish documentary evidence that it meets the following financial requirement's An average Annual Turnover of at least Two (2) times its price offer for each lot bid for during the last Three (3) years. (b) Experience and Technical Capacity. The Bidders shall furnish documentary evidence to demonstrate that it meets the following experience requirements (s): The Bidders hs substantially completed Three (3) contracts for the supply of goods of similar complexity and value within the last Five (5) years. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the bidding documents. 7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 200.00 (Two Hundred Birr). or equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Those who want the bid document to be sent by a Courier Service shall pay an additional amount of ETB 515.00 or equivalent in a freely convertible currency for a courier service charge or send a pre paid Courier Service  shall pay an additional amount of amount of ETB 515.00 Cashier’s Payment Order (C.P.O) or direct deposit to PFSA A/C No. 01246 730145 with the Construction & Business Bank, Piassa Branch.8. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before June 29, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. local time. Electronic bidding will not permitted. Lat bids will be rejected. Bidders will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at the Conference Hall of Pharmaceuticals Fund & Supply Agency (PFSA).
