1. Relief assistance:

Relief food items was provided to 71,100 beneficiaries in Arsi, East Harage, East and West Wollega, and Illubabor zones during 1992-1995, with the fund of ETB 1,075,832 obtained from DPPC, CRDA, ICRC, UNICEF, & IIRO.

2. OCAA RELIEF AID:

With a total budget of ETB 2,474,640.10 Oxfam Community Aid Abroad in collaboration with Oxfam Hong Kong and Reuter Foundation is assisting 28,222 drought affected people in Adama, Dugda Bora and Ziway Dugda Woredas for the months of March, April and May 2003 with ration size of 15kg/person/month.

3. GAA 2003 RELIEF /1^st PHASE:

With a total budget of ETB 4,418,227.17 the German Agro Action has assisted 51,700 drought victims in Gololcha, Marti and Ziway Dugda woredas for the months of January, February and March with ration size of 12.5 kg wheat, 0.9 kg pulses and 0.6 kg edible oil.

4. HEKS Relief Aid:

Switzerland based Interchurch Aid (HEKS) is providing development oriented relief assistance with ETB 2,948,776 to 23,900 drought victims of Shashamanne Woreda for the months of March, April and May with ration size of 15kg/person/month. Three years development project with a total budget of ETB 4,500,000 will commence in June in six selected villages.

5. EUROPEAN UNION (EU) RELIEF:

The EU has allocated ETB 4,044,400 to assist 94,200 people of Merti and Gololcha woredas for April and April and May respectively with ration size of 12.5kg/person/month.

6. GAA 2003 Relief / 2^nd Phase:

With a total budget of ETB 13,244,594 obtained from the German Agro Action, OSHO is assisting 76,000 drought victims in Ziway Dugda woreda for the months of June, July, August and September with total ration of 3629.904 MT of wheat, 174.235 ML of oil, 290.382 MT of peas. In addition 9000 heads of goats and 12,000 pcs of hand tools are being distributed. To enhance the food security 11 medium seed stores are under construction.
